CSR
CSR is an integral part of Indorama culture globally. The Indorama group always believed that as it grew, the community must also grow with them. IEPL has various Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programs as follows:
- Renovation of Eleme General Hospital and donation of 134 various hospital equipment worth over N80 million to the hospital.
- Mobile Clinic: In 2010 and 2011, in partnership with Eleme LG Council, EPCL conducted medical outreaches to all communities in Eleme and Elelenwo and provided free medical consultations and free medicines to many people for various ailments such as malaria, typhoid fever, hypertension, diabetes, etc.
- Donation of medicines to Daughters of Charity, a Catholic organization to take care of the sick and needy in Eleme and environment. It runs various homes for motherless children, old-people, HIV/AIDS patients, mentally-deranged persons.
- Award of scholarships to 30 engineering undergraduates of Eleme and Elelenwo communities for 4-year program in universities for 2010 and 2011.
- Donation of exercise books to public primary schools and select private ones in the host communities.
- Sponsorship of “Illiteracy Eradication Initiative (IEI)”, a remedial program for secondary school students to address mass failure in public examinations (JAMB, WAEC, NECO, GCE, etc.).
- The company is sponsoring the construction of an ICT Centre for youth empowerment for all the youths of Eleme and Elelenwo communities to the tune of N10 million.
- Implementing micro-credit scheme for women, especially widows in the communities for poverty alleviation and women empowerment.
