Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) IEPL Indorama Corporation at large and IEPL in particular, always remain socially responsible and undertake relevant projects & activities in and around the communities it operates. The company is highly responsible to the environment, communities and complies with all mandatory & statutory laws, rules and regulations. Alongside the Group Company Indorama Eleme Petrochemicals Limited, IEPL has implemented several CSR projects and has signed and implemented Six (6) MOUs with the host communities on investments in such projects. Initiatives:
This initiative which coincided with World Menstrual Day and celebrated Children’s Day addressed the holistic well-being of the girl child with Gynecologists and public health speakers in attendance. The selection of 200 girls was carried out by the host community schools. The program involved lectures, practical demonstrations, question & answer segments, refreshments and disbursement of gifts.
An annual scholarship scheme for meritorious students from stakeholder communities. To date, a total of 1,012 scholarships have been awarded. This initiative highlights the company’s commitment to promoting education and supporting the academic aspirations of talented students.
The business grant is aimed at empowering women in the host communities, particularly focusing on poverty alleviation and support for widows. So far, a total of 699 women have benefited from this initiative, reflecting the company’s commitment to fostering economic independence and enhancing the livelihoods of women.
In a bid to encourage self-employment, Indorama’s skill acquisition program equips individuals with essential skills and starter packs to help them pursue various income-generating activities. By investing in skill development, the company aims to enhance employment opportunities and promote economic growth within the host communities, fostering greater financial independence and sustainability. A total number of 888 youths including men and women have benefitted from various trainings like hair making, scaffolding, welding etc. Indorama-Nigeria is indeed making its mark in CSR, which has been regarded as a worthy corporate social investment" | |
